• Gas cylinders are quite heavy even when unfilled and should they discharge can cause serious harm. 
  
• Ensure that all staff members handle gas cylinders carefully and use protective gloves and footwear when carrying them.

Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park located in  Seih Al-Dahal is  one of the world's largest renewable project based on an independent power producer (IPP) model. It also has world's largest 260 m solar tower made to provide sunlight to solar panels at any angle.

After months of research by the contracting companies of the region, Raframps have been chosen to provide loading/unloading equipments like forklift ramps and dock boards. According to the Operations Manager of the company Troy Dey mentioned "we have provided 5 modified ramps for the first phase of the project and would supply more as the project gains traction." ​

A year back there has been new rule implemented in UAE for transporting goods across Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The goods must be enclosed in a boxed trailer or should be put inside a container. The companies that used to load using sideways started having problems with loading containers as they can only load form the rear with forklift and then pushed inside. 

Here are some of the ways to load a container and its pros and cons of doing it.

i, Grounding the container (Side Loader/ Lifter)

One of the most common ways to load/unload container is with side loader/lifter. A truck that has a side loading device. This enables the truck to pull up beside your warehouse area and offload the container directly off the side.
There are advantages and disadvantages of Side Loader to load/unload Container.

Advantages

• Ability to move alongside storage racks or trucks for easier loading and unloading.
• They are able to move down narrow doors and through narrow doorways.
• A flat cargo bed on the side of the lift helps stabilization in the loading/unloading when it is being moved.
• Because their loads face the direction the lift is moving, long and awkward loads can be handled more safely and easily.

Disadvantages

• With the exception of when working in narrow doors, side-loading forklifts are generally less maneuverable than standard forklifts. 
• The grounded containers require separate container ramps for loading and unloading.
• Because they’re specialized pieces of equipment, it’s sometimes necessary to purchase accessories or attachments for handling and moving different load weights and types of materials.
• Safety is also moderate and cost is high due to less availability of the forklifts that are used in this method.

ii, Container unloader

Container load/unload method is the method where the container picks itself up off a trailer, with the help of removable hydraulic legs then lowers itself to the ground after the trailer drives away the vehicle. Note that this method does not allow for moving the container horizontally.  The container just goes straight down from where it sat on the trailer.

Advantages

• They are highly effective with heavy loads, as the hydraulic power provides a far greater lifting strength.
• Hydraulic lifts are cheaper to install than other types of lifts.​

Disadvantages

• The relatively slow speed. A hydraulic lift cannot move faster than 150 feet per minute.
• One of the major concerns is the safety as any imbalance in the jacks can be very bad.
• The hydraulic oil can emit an unpleasant odor when it becomes too hot from overuse.
• The grounded containers require separate container ramps for loading and unloading.
• The ride quality is generally not as smooth as with other lift systems.

iii, Unload with Crane

A crane is what many people commonly associate with container offloading.  They offer a lot of flexibility but can be expensive to have on site.  The crane itself is a vehicle, and an additional truck/trailer will be needed to separately transport the container.

Advantages

• Can unload any length of goods whether it is long beams, sheets or plates.
• Can unload containers at distance with crane arm reach thus having more freedom of placement.

Disadvantages

• Ports or terminals with container facility and crane may not be available in certain parts of the world.
  
  
• Requires space to expand the legs for better stability.
• Large capital expenditure may be essential to handle ‘container based’ networks.
• The cost to buy crane is relatively higher compared to others especially forklift ramps.

iv, Use Forklift Ramp

There are many benefits of using a forklift ramp. A ramp is basically a platform for the forklift to go inside the container to load/unload the container faster. Ramp is the new and innovative way to load/unload container faster which saves time, efforts as well as increases safety. Most of the companies use this method nowadays to load/unload container. ​

Advantages–

• Increase in safety and save more than 50% of your efforts and as well as cost of the company
• With help of one labor the whole container can be loaded/unloaded easily which saves on labor cost of the company.
• Reduces the downtime required by the trailer unloading the container.
• Does not require separate container ramp as grounding is not required.
  
• There are various types of forklift ramp which are available according to customer needs with many different accessories.
• Most affordable of the three solutions.
  

Disadvantages -

• Unlike crane, it cannot unload goods of any size.
• Requires separate place for storage.

After 14 months of development we have released one of the world's largest dropdeck trailer for one of the leading companies in the region. It is with 2.7 m and 4.4m usable width for carrying goods and materials. The dropdeck trailer can carry a payload of 8 tons with length of 6 m and 3.27 m width. It would be mainly used inside the army base and ports to carry heavy equipments like man lifts, generator, forklifts etc which were hard to load on regular/conventional recovery vehicles.

Our client looked for a solution to increase safety and decrease loading times so they looked out for a solution for more than 2 years and finally liked Al Ameen team design and experience in designing body dropping trailers.

We had to go through 175 new designs to change the suspension which was failing using parts available in the market.
It had taken more than 5 designers to design individual parts, everything from hubs, tyres, rim and axles were custom made to carry heavy loads.

The hubs were specially made to carry 20 tons each though maximum the trailer would carry with its weight and full load would be 12 tons. One of the frustrating and challenging part was the tyres. We tested many tyres which had worn away during the tests as it could not withstand the load.  The tyres are solid rubber and durable specially designed to fit interiors of the chassis. The hydraulics were specially made to take heavy loads and pull the deck at an angle. The chassis  was one of the main challenges to fabricate as it had to account for roll as it did not have an axle. We did face rolling of the chassis sometimes about 40 mm and then did some correctional changes to make it aligned and work.

We have had first get together of the year where we looked over the success of the past and planned for the coming year. We believe in team building and getting out of everyday stress to build team spirit and culture.

Garage doors come in four basic types: They may swing out, swing up, roll up, or slide to the side. Here are description of some types of doors you want to look and decide depending on space and aesthetics.

 Swing-out carriage-house doors or sliding barn doors are a good choice if you need to keep the ceiling clear or if you want their distinctive look. Otherwise, the most popular option by far is the sectional roll-up door.
Before purchasing a roll-up door, measure the space between the top of the garage door opening and the ceiling or overhead framing. Standard tracks require headroom of about 14 inches. If you don’t have that, you can get low-headroom track, which costs about 400 Dirhams more. There are also tracks specially made for garages with unusually high walls or cathedral ceilings.

Swing up, Canopy Style Up-and-Over Doors or Tilt up garage doors are a type of door that is built as one piece. In order to open and close the garage, the door is pulled back on a pivot before being lifted onto a track in the ceiling of the garage. Swing up doors are called because as one piece they are pulled up by hydraulic or a motor up.

The main advantage of these types of doors are they are more elegant and beautiful compared to other doors like swing out and roll doors as they come in one piece also they come in different materials which other doors cant come due to stress that some other doors like roll up garage doors come to experience.

Some downsides of have tilt up garage doors is that they can take more space than requires and are more expensive compared to other doors due to the size it takes while moving or shipping.

There are two types of overhead doors - roll up and sectional garage doors. Overhead as the name implies shows it rolls overhead when it opens. An overhead roll up garage door, is also called a rolling steel door or coiling door, is fabricated with individual metal slat sections that are interlocked together, then coil up above the door opening around a drum so they store in a compact area. They are installed by mounting the door side guides and assembly to the wall.

They are a popular choice that can give the user a number of practical benefits. Sectional overhead garage doors are made up of connected individual horizontal panels. They have hinges that help connect the panels and allow the doors to move through the meeting point of the door and the roof, thus opening at an angle and saving space unlike swing up or swing out  garage doors. After opening the doors are stored horizontally beneath the roof and are raised vertically. These sectional doors which are made of a series of linked door panels, which can be raised or flush are popular as they take up limited space. They are cheaper compared to other doors and are easy to transport and operate. Moreover they are quiet and easy to operate regularly or during emergency.
